Clinical Practice Guidelines

Guidelines are "Statements that include recommendations intended to optimize patient care that are informed by a systematic review of evidence and an assessment of the benefits and harms of alternative care options" as defined by the National Academy of Medicine (formerly Institute of Medicine).

Palliative / Supportive / Survivorship

Guidelines developed by other organizations where ASTRO is invited to participate may be considered for endorsement. ASTRO prefers to have one or more representatives on the task force, peer review the draft guideline and then receive a final version for endorsement consideration. All endorsed documents must be approved by ASTRO’s Board of Directors. See the collaborative guideline development page for more detail.
